Climate

With the small exception of its strip of coastline, the whole of Tell es-Sakan generally has an arid desert climate. It is dry in most of the country except on the northern The Boisterous Sea and Southern waters coasts which receive more rainfall in winter. In addition to rarity of rain, extreme heat during summer months is also a general climate feature of Tell es-Sakan although daytime temperatures are more moderate along the mentioned coasts. Throughout Tell es-Sakan, days are commonly warm or hot, and nights are cool. Tell es-Sakan has only two seasons: a mild winter from November to April and a hot summer from May to October.

Every year, sometime from March to May, an extremely hot, dry and dusty wind blows from the south or the southwest. When the flow of dry air continuously blows over vast desert regions, it picks up fine sand and dust particles and finally results in a dusty wind which is generally felt in the periphery of the desert. When this wind blows over Tell es-Sakan, it causes high temperatures to soar temporarily at dangerous levels, usually over 45°C (113°F).

The prevailing winds from the waters continuously blow over the northern coast without the interposition of an eventual mountain range and thus, greatly moderate temperatures throughout the year. Because of those winds, average low temperatures vary from 9.5°C (49.1°F) during wintertime to 23°C (73.4°F) to summertime and average high temperatures vary from 17°C (62.6°F) during wintertime to 32°C (89.6°F) in summertime. Though temperatures are moderated along the coasts, the situation changes in the interior of the country which are away from the moderating northerly winds. Thus, in the central and the southern parts, daytime temperatures are hotter, especially in summers where average high temperatures can exceed 40°C (104°F).

Religion

Pharaoh is the leader of the Tell es-Sakan nation. He is equal to the King or Emperor of other nations. Pharaoh also holds the title of 'High Priest of Every Temple'.

It happened that since the times before even what Olometists call the New Era, house of Khaldun became the most powerful and the best known family in Tell es-Sakan. They were the ones who united many tribes under their name. It is not known for certain if it is true or just rumors, but people started to whisper long ago that this family is not of a mundane origins.

Various rumors about powers and magic given to the first born child of the Pharaoh spread around the country. It was believed that he can control fire, water, land and air. It was believed that he is the most powerful person on the earth. Also, it was said that these powers are given by blood and that the family's blood is holy. That is why the skin of family members glint like gold. Some rumors say that their skin is actually made of gold.

That is how the House of Khaldun came to be believed as the Family of Gods and temples, and shrines started to be built in the lands of Tell es-Sakan. The actual Pharaoh mostly became a mystical creature very rarely seen by the people. Mostly during the day of his or her birth and death. Rarely, he may be seen during special occasions. Mostly, the priests speak the word of the Pharaoh's to the people.

Other members of the family are more often seen around and sometimes are married into the other noble families just to honor them with the blood of the God. That is why nobles are considered as chosen by the living God (Pharaoh).

However, the true leader may be born just from the blood of Khaldun family. That is why the first born child has always married the first born child of the opposite gender (if the first born heir is female she has to marry her eldest brother, if the first born is male he has to marry his eldest sister). If the child dies sooner, his soul chooses the heir from his brothers and sisters by sending his powers to her or him. Then that child has to marry his/her sibling to keep the bloodline pure for the generations of Pharaohs to come.
