120 NE: A part of Salaspils and unknown to the majority of the population for some time, foreign missionaries would move into lands that would be part of what is now part of southern Nassau. These missionaries were part of the Roussel Olometists from Lichtenau originally, though more from Geisenheim would arrive in coming years.
141 NE: The faith of Roussel Olometism continues to spread secretly, laying the groundwork for a new nation centuries in the future.
270-289 NE: Members of the Roussel Olometist faith in the lands that would become Nassau, still technically part of Salaspils, along with Lichetnau and Geisenheim tried to support their Chantour and San Severo in their struggles for foodstuffs and other supplies. This was done by the faithful altering reports so that a little here and there would be missing through the lands of the faithful. Small amounts individually but collectively proved a large help to their neighbors when combined with what Geisenheim and Lichtenau could provide. When Charkhi Dadri attacks Lichtenau, the faithful joins the other nations to try and unite their powers to defend Lichetnau against wild troops from the east.
290 NE: The Red Morning. The war which rose early one morning. Armies of Lichtenau, Geisenheim and Nassau were slaughtered. It is said that Charkhi Dadri had the most cruel warriors and the most strange weapons, against which the union of three armies was unable to resist. Lichtenau was claimed by Charkhi Dadri. Their leader Chitraksh Sarbadhikari introduced himself as Sultan. The Sultan offered peace to Geisenheim and Salaspils if the Grand Duke of Salaspils and the Duke of Geisenheim would give one of their daughters each to his son in marriage. Both the Duke and Grand Duke agreed, however the Grand Duke actually sent the daughter of House Olbrich which was one of his vassals, and also was blamed for the war coming to Salaspils. Passing off the daughter of the most influential House that followed Roussel Olometism in secret, as the Grand Duke's own daughter. The peace was secured and this act would help to lead to a revolution in the future.
295 NE: Word finally reaches Salaspils and those of the Roussel Olometist faith, of the executions carried out a four years prior on their own and possible converts. The normally tolerant and compromising people become even more set against the people of Charkhi Dabri, and also sowed even more resentment towards the Grand Duke allowing more followers of Roussel Olometism to side with House Olbrich. The people of Salaspils, including the faithful of Roussel Olometism, and Geisenheim start to rebuild their armies.
325-330 NE: The Liberation of Lichtenau. Geiseinheim not only manages to assemble a large force, they also form deals with San Severo and Salaspils to create a united assault against Charkhi Dadri to reclaim the lands of Lichtenau. The five year campaign indeed secured the freedom of the Olometism nation, which was finally able to practice Olometism publicly once more.
350 NE: The religious movement in southeast Salaspils grows strong enough to stand on it's own, isolating themselves. Ethnically they are a mix of Salaspils, Lichtenau, and Geisenheim peoples. United under the Roussel Olometist faith, they petition for recognition from the Council of Dieu Soleil, and thanks to their part in assisting in the recovery of the other nations during the Piracy Age, are granted resulting in the birth of the Dukedom of Nassau.
350-353 NE: The Northern War. After the recognition of Nassau as a sovereign nation Salaspils declared war. Seeking to reclaim the territory of the newly formed Nassau, the Salaspils people sought to either kill or drive out all Olometists from "their lands" by force. Nassau resisted the attempts and drawing on their close connections with Geisenheim and Lichtenau, a united front is created against the attackers. By 351 NE Chantour joins the fray as well, after the Council of Dieu Soleil declares the war justified to maintain the sovereignty of Nassau. Aquera takes no direct part in the war, though they do provide support. The war finally comes to an end when Salaspils sues for peace, the Council fo Dieu Soleil agrees, and all Olometist nations are called to cease hostilities after it is agreed that Salaspils will recognize the independence of Nassau, returning all lands to that nation that might be held, and in return all territory that was part of Salaspils that does not include Nassau will be returned to Salaspils without issue.
360-364 NE: The Southern Wars. San Severo and Charkhi Dadri ally and launch a combined assault on Geisenheim, Lichtenau, and Chantour. The nations of Chantour, Geisenheim, Lichtenau, and Nassau face off against San Severo and Charkhi Dadri and the war ends in 364 NE with a stalemate causing both sides to agree to an end of all hostilities. Nassau, like Geisenheim and Lichtenau, seek to only present a unified front to hold only the territory they originally had. As such they neither lose nor gain ground by the end of the war.
368 NE: The eastern Olometist Nations, including Nassau, are unable to supply aid of any form to the holy war called by the Council of Dieu Soleil due to Chantour demanding ridiculously high fees to travel through Chantour lands, once more under the claim of needing to rebuild their economy. Like the others, Nassau refuse to pay as they barely had the funds to send even a few platoons, and recognizing it as simple extortion, this lack of aid coming from the east for the holy war initially was met with anger from the Council of Dieu Soleil and Aquera until it was later learned why.
375-377 NE: Nassau eventually is able to rebuild their economy and forces completely.
380-385 NE: The New Eastern Wars. Charkhi Dadri launches a surprise attack on Lichtenau during the night, resulting in five outlying settlements falling under the invaders control. Over the next five years Charkhi Dadri will gradually expand. In 383 NE, as the eastern half of Lichtenau comes fully under the control of Charkhi Dadri an unexpected threat comes from further east. The Sharya attack Charkhi Dadri in eastern Lichtenau and Nassau. Already facing the combined forces of all the Olometist nations, this new threat quickly forces Charkhi Dadri to withdraw from Lichtenau. The Olometist nations shift their focus from the retreating Charkhi Dadri to confront this new threat in Lichtenau and Nassau. By 385 NE the forces of Sharya are pushed back into their own territory by the combined forces of Olometists, which for the first time fight as a united people against a single foe. Forces from all six nations set up border fortresses to secure the area and hold it with frequent patrols and quick responses against further Sharya incursions. This started a period where the six Olometist nations are the most united, a period that would last another ten years.
395-398 NE: Several expeditions of Roussel Olometist priests cross the border from Nassau and Lichtenau into Sharya in an effort to end hostilities through conversion, or at least diplomacy. None of the expeditions are ever seen or heard from again. After multiple failures over the course of a year military expeditions start to be sent out to try and gain a foothold in the lands of Sharya, these too are never seen or heard from again.
400 NE: Forces from Sharya attempting to gain entry into the lands of Nassau and Lichtenau decrease. Towards the end of the year forces from Loutraki, Aquera, and Chantour withdraw to return to their own lands. This leaves the defense of the border to Geisenheim, Nassau, and Lichtenau alone. The three nations name these defenses and those manning them the “Desiree Line” in honor of the single individual who effectively gave birth to their branch of the faith, and whom is seen by followers of Roussel Olometism as a motherly, nurturing, and protective figure. Shrines to Dieu Soleil, Olom Tisma, and for the first time former Queen Desiree Roussel start appearing in the various border fortifications.
455-460 NE: The Second Sharya War. Forces from Sharya claims a foothold in northern Nassau, some suggest the attack might have came from Salaspils. From this initial foothold Sharya forces begin a campaign of conquest through the rest of northern Nassau. The Olometist forces, especially those of Nassau, Geisenheim, and Lichtenau respond quickly. Over the course of the following five years, borders shift back and forth, Sharya claiming up to the northern half of Nassau during their most successful push. With the end of the war Olometist forces end up continuing to northernmost border of Nassau further north to the coast of the Sharya Sea. This marks the time in history where the borders of Nassau were at their largest.
461-463 NE: With counter-attacks from the remnants of the Sharya forces, and especially the bitterly cold climate, the lands claimed during the Second Sharya War are lost as the Olometists fully withdraw from the foreign nation.
