Government

A crowned republic is a form of government where there is a monarch and a royal family representing the nation, but their role is purely ceremonial and all the royal prerogatives are prescribed by custom and law in such a way that the monarch has no real discretion over governmental and constitutional issues. A crowned republic may thus be a form of parliamentary republic, while officially it may be called a constitutional monarchy.

Loutraki established a republic based on the San Severo model (though officially they deny this to the other nations of the Olometism faith), a government in which citizens elect representatives to rule on their behalf. The institution they are elected to is known as a Senate and consists of 20 elected people. A republic is quite different from a democracy, in which every citizen is expected to play an active role in governing the state. Here only, all males over 20 years old, and who are descended from the original noble families of Loutraki are considered to be citizens with the right to participate in country's politics.

The election is held once per year on the first day of the new year in the Senate Palace.

Concerning the monarch, he is known as the King and the position is elective. The King is elected by the Senate members and he is elected to rule till his death. Then a new election is held. Anyone with noble blood may become the King and raise his family's name to the royal. Currently it's House of Sisini.
